| North of Sambor Prei Kuk Located uphill in the jungle, 4 km north of Sambor Prei Kuk, Srey Krup Leak and Robang Romeas are the remains of an ancient urban settlement, dating from the 6th and 7th centuries, and predating Sambor Pre Kuk. Prasat Tamon is located within the enclosure of the square city, in its north-eastern quarter. All the three sites are well worth a visit. Flying palaces On the walls of some temples there are miniatures of a palace in heaven; supported by flying hamsa (sacred wild geese). |
